Family & Surrogacy Law

Our family law team brings its vast legal experience to both simple and complex family law matters. The firm's practice encompasses all areas of family law including pre-nuptial agreements, divorce, child custody and support, and post-decree matters including enforcement of child support and maintenance orders, and modification of parenting time plans. Unlike most family law practices, our attorneys are able to draw on the expertise of the firm's own business, tax and estate planning attorneys to address other unique and complicated issues which often arise in family law matters. While we strive to resolve family law matters compassionately and cost-effectively through negotiation and mediation, we offer zealous and aggressive trial representation, when necessary, to ensure our clients' needs are met. We are GLBT friendly and are happy to serve that community's family law needs.

Surrogacy Law
In the current age of assisted reproduction, more and more couples are utilizing a surrogate to assist them in having a family. Such assisted reproduction arrangements involve a wide range of legal, tax and financial implications that should be thoroughly analyzed by an attorney well-versed in this area and the developing law. Our clients include intended parents, traditional and gestational surrogates, sperm donors and egg donors. We assist our clients throughout the entire surrogacy process including: drafting and negotiating sperm and egg donation agreements and surrogacy contracts, obtaining pre-birth orders recognizing the intended parents as the child's legal parents upon birth, preparing medical powers of attorney and medical releases and any necessary post-birth orders or second-parent adoptions. We handle both private surrogacy arrangements and those couples working with surrogacy agencies. We believe our familiarity with the various health and life insurance options, Colorado fertility clinics and various hospital administration and Colorado Vital Records procedures provides our clients with a valuable service to meet even the most unique circumstances.
